Biography

Passionate about drawing and painting since childhood, Annie Danberg has a lifetime of experience in the visual arts. As a child art making was her solace, a refuge from the physical pain of numerous leg surgeries and from the emotional pain of being dwarf and looking different from her peers.  As a young adult, Annie was trained in the graphic arts and worked as a graphic designer for 20 years. Throughout this time, she continued to paint and study art independently, drawing inspiration for her work from nature, dreams and inner vision. Annie has worked in a variety of mediums including oil paint, printmaking, drawing and encaustic.

Starting in 1999, Annie studied painting for process with Stewart Cubley, co-author of Life, Paint and Passion, and co-founder of the Painting Experience. She has since become a facilitator of the creative process and currently leads Painting Experience classes and workshops, helping people to achieve creative and psychological breakthroughs via expressive painting. In addition, Annie is currently a student of psychology and is pursuing a degree in expressive arts therapy.
